"Children's Choice School Bus Driver of the Year"
ESSAY CONTEST
School bus drivers play an important role in getting our children safely to and from school. For many children and their parents the smiling face that opens the bus door every day is a friend, mentor and guardian. In 2006, as part of its 90th anniversary celebration, Thomas Built Buses created the "Driver of the Year" essay contest to give children the opportunity to honor their favorite bus driver.
CONTEST DETAILS
Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are eligible to enter the contest by submitting a 90-word essay about what makes their bus driver so special. Essay entries will be judged based on content, originality and driver qualifications (to be verified by the driver's employer and Thomas Built Buses).
Children who enter must have a parent or legal guardian's permission to participate and must provide a written affidavit signed by their guardian prior to being proclaimed a winner.

Prizes will be awarded to the child who writes the winning essay and to the driver they nominated.
