Activity - Saf-T-Liner® C2 Buses- Safety

You may have noticed that the C2 looks different than other Type C buses. We chose this design, quite simply, because of the outstanding visibility and safety. The windshield provides a panoramic view and when combined with the low sloping hood, low instrument panel and A-pillar windows, the C2's visibility footprint is the largest in the type C category. Plus, it offers a number of other features that enhance safety, including:
- The large bonded windshield increases the glass area to more than 2900 square inches and is made from one piece instead of two. The curved, bonded glass is more likely to resist chips.
- Enhanced driver area defrosting/demisting (with optional A/C) is integrated between the chassis and body for improved defrosting performance, moisture control and driver comfort.
- Independent daytime running headlamps are brighter and have improved light distribution.
- New, larger warning light system increases illuminated area by over 20 percent.
- Stationery glass in the passenger compartment is bonded and increased 16 percent.
- Push-out windows are now approximately 3 inches taller and 1 inch wider.
- Clear opening of rear emergency door increased 36 percent.
- Improved wiper coverage with intermittent feature and overlapping pattern for increased driver visibility in rainy conditions.
- New bonded driver view window in front of door for increased visibility in the loading/unloading zone.
