"Back-to-School Facebook Photo Contest"
Bright yellow school buses are a symbol of the Back to School season for 25 million students across the country. To celebrate riding the school bus back to school, Thomas Built Buses is once again hosting its annual Back to School Photo Contest. Parents across the country are encouraged to enter a photo that best represents riding a school bus back to school for a chance to win a $2,000 donation for your school.
Entrants must be U.S. residents who are 18 years old or older. Photos must only represent students or school buses for grades K-12.
HOW TO ENTER
Visit the Thomas Built Buses Facebook page and "Like" the page. On the special Back to School Photo Contest tab, enter a photo that best represents the fun, excitement or nostalgia of riding the bus and the Back to School season. All photos must include some depiction of a school bus. Entries will be accepted from August 1, 2014 through September 30, 2014. On October 1, the online voting period begins for all eligible photos. Entrants are encouraged to get their friends and families to vote for their favorite photos.
On October 15, the top 50 winning photos from the popular vote will be reviewed by a panel of independent judges who will choose the top five final winners based on the following criteria for a total of 100 points: originality (20%), applicability to Back to School theme (20%), inclusion of a school bus (20%), and (40%) based on the number of votes received during the voting process. Points based on votes will be appointed as follows:
- Top 5% of posts will receive 40 points
- Top 6% - 15% of posts will receive 30 points
- Top 16% - 25% of posts will receive 20 points
- Top 26% - 50% of posts will receive 10 points
- Bottom 50% of posts will receive no additional points
Five grand prize winners will each receive a $2,000 donation to their school. Winning photos may also appear on the Thomas Built Bus corporate website and in local, national or trade media.
