Faced with a plea to open their business a daunting two months ahead of schedule, owners of Park, Bark and Fly, an airport shuttle and dog sitting service at Orlando International Airport, were on a mission. They needed a whole fleet of shuttles, and fast. Luckily, Florida Bus Unlimited, the Thomas Built Buses dealer for Florida, made it easy with six Minotour® Type A buses ready and waiting.

"The acquisition cost of the Minotour and the value you get versus buying some of the commercial shuttles made them an excellent choice. They've really worked out well for us," said co-owner Rick Harrington.

"We were slated to open in January, but got a call from the airport in November asking us to be up and running in time to handle the rush of the holiday season. We literally had four days to open our doors. We were relieved when we were able to get six new Thomas Built buses right off the lot at Florida Bus Unlimited."

Since then, the Minotour shuttles have proven incredibly reliable for Park, Bark and Fly by standing up to one of the most punishing duty cycles imaginable. The company’s current fleet of 11 buses each log about 80,000 miles every year, many running 18 to 20 hours a day for months at a time. The Thomas Built Minotour has comfortable and spacious seating for up to 30 passengers. In addition to being highly compact and maneuverable, these Type A designs have a wide center aisle and full-height entrance door with a padded door header. There is an optional diesel engine chassis for longer lifespan and better fuel economy.

Park, Bark and Fly opened in November of 2005 and has experienced explosive growth. Harrington estimates the company’s shuttles carry anywhere from 600 to 1,000 people to and from the airport every day. The business runs Minotour buses exclusively and has made the bus an integral part of its corporate identity – even picturing the vehicle on its business cards.

Park, Bark and Fly is Orlando's largest off-site airport parking facility, and the only one to offer a pet boarding facility. There are 2,000 paved, lighted and numbered surface parking spots currently available, with 500 more planned.
